Trivia
  • Gran Torino was written by Nick Schenk. Nick learned the Hmong culture while packaging VHS tapes with the Hmong people in a factory in Bloomington, Minnesota.
  • Clint Eastwood was able to direct and star in Gran Torino because filming for Invictus was delayed until 2009.
  • Filming occurred in Michigan not Minnesota because of the generous tax credits offered by Detroit.
